Growing up, brand new school supplies always had a special spot in my heart. Whether it was a new notebook, a new set of colored pencils or even an activity book. It was always one of my favorite moments that kept on even growing up. As a little girl, I would go through the aisles of notebooks, pens, coloring pencils, and binders to find just the right supplies to start the new school year. As I got older and had little ones of my own, that love never changed and has passed on to them. I see my own reflection on them every time a new notebook or school supplies appear in our home, and they reach for it.

When my daughter was three years old, I started food blogging at Olga in the Kitchen, and found myself in love with my new role as a mother and a blogger. However, it was overwhelming trying to be successful at both. I found myself buying a simple planner from local store that was pretty and functional. I started planning my days and it truly made my busy life simpler. 

It wasn't until four years ago, when my husband and I made a decision to homeschool our daughter, that I got an idea of print-at-home worksheets. I started researching for different activities online either to print at no cost or at an affordable price, in English and Ukrainian languages. So often I could not find what I was looking for. The idea of making own printables to share with other parents, started floating in my head. I learned the basics of designing own worksheets in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and started creating my own worksheets. Then I opened an Etsy shop during summer and posted few printables for sale. Some simple coloring pages and activities for parents to print at home for their kids. I made my first sale in October 2020, which was couple months later since opening my online shop. 

A year later, I wanted to have a professional looking website that is easy to navigate and organized, along with a blogging section where I could share my own tips with other parents. Kind of like my personal corner on the internet, where I can share my world as a mom juggling homeschooling, food blogging and printables business. 

In 2021-2022, I had a chance to teach lessons in Ukrainian language to little kids ranging from four to six years old, for about 8 months. My little experience of creating printable worksheets turned out to be a huge help. I kept creating different coloring pages and activities for each lesson in Ukrainian language. Kids looked up to something new every lesson and I couldn't be happier that I could make their little faces smile with something so simple as a new coloring page. 

Simple moments, simply spent days - coloring together with my little ones or doing fun hands-on activities are one of the most memorable special memories for my kids. It is why and how Simpliday Paper came to life. Creating unforgettable memories through coloring a simple image.
